Appearance:
Head:
Naka has long locks of dark red hair that flows from beneath a wide-brimmed black hat. This hat is trimmed in a stylish manner with golden cord. The structure of his face is characterized by sharp, elongated features, accumulating in a pointed jawline and chin, with a small, auburn goatee. What little of his face that can be seen is rather plain, and even his dark blue eyes are hardly noticed. Some would say that his face would be one that you might not even remember, for it lacks identifying features.
Upper Body:
A thick tunic covers Naka’s upper body, the long sleeves extending down to white gloves shielding his hands. This tunic is made of strong black fabric trimmed with gold. This gold is actually pieces of quite thin metal inlay-ed with gold leaf. The metal is thicker on the ends of the sleeves and over the shoulders but remains fairly thin. A golden metal belt is clasped loosely over the tunic at the waist, and the black coat tails extend down below it significantly. On the upper left side of the coat, almost on the front of the shoulder, lies a symbol. This symbol is that of an ancient and forgotten order, belonging to the Quincy Knights of old. His foster father had worn the very same uniform back in the day, and when Naka began to excel in the ways of the Quincy he passed it down the line. Now Naka wears it with pride, counting himself among the few remaining warriors from that order.
Lower Body:
Non-descript black pants cover his legs all the way down to black loafers. Despite appearances, these shoes are designed for comfort and stability during combat, and have served him well. Unlike the rest of his uniform, his pants and shoes are plainly black, and remain without the gold characterizing the rest of the uniform. In areas of little light this portion of his body would likely seem to disappear altogether, fading into the background.
History:
Childhood:
Well, my name is Naka. I’ve never known any other name, no first or last name really. People have been calling me Naka for as long as I can remember, so I guess that’s my name. I was nothing more than an orphan running around on the streets for up until I was 7, maybe 8. At least that’s about what I can remember. Anyways, at some point around that time I got caught stealing from a sidewalk vendor. Real bummer. I got tossed into our version of Juvie Hall for a bit, and then maybe a year or two later some old guy decided to become my ‘foster father’ or something like that. I had to move with him, going to live in a little town called Karakura. He made me go to school, learn to read and write and stuff. It was kind of a pain, but I guess I’m better for it after all. Anyways, after a while I actually began to enjoy life living inside a home rather then on the streets, and realized just how grateful I should be to Mr. Yumi. And over time I began to respect and even love the guy.
Teenage Years:
I was 12 years old when it happened. Weirdest experience of my life, let me tell you. I was just walking home from school one day, minding my own business, when all of a sudden this freakin’ monster appeared out of nowhere. It was really quite terrifying. Probably the first and only time I have actually been so scared that I was unable to move. Literally petrified with fear. I can safely say I have never felt anything quite like that fear. The thing was as tall as a one-story building with white skin and a grotesque mask thing where it’s face should have been. A yawning maw opened in his face, and as a long tentacle-like appendage slithered through the air and over the ground towards me, I came to the realization that I was about to be eaten. I opened my mouth to scream in a most unmanly fashion, but nothing came out. It was almost like I had no breath to scream with. Just when the tentacle seemed like it was about to grab me, I was temporarily blinded by a bright flash of yellow light. In a eruption of blood the appendage was abruptly severed from the body, and it flopped around on the ground for a few moments before somehow dissolving before my very eyes. I took this in via my peripheral vision though, because something else was occupying my attention. Of all people to be there at that time, it was my foster father, old Mr. Yumi. But this was not the Mr. Yumi I knew, but a strange man, a warrior dressed in a black tunic laced with gold. And this warrior carried not one, but two great battle-axes. They were impressive in both size and appearance, grand blades adorning the sides of each axe. Golden light flashed again as he swung both axes together. I was able to keep my sight just enough to see blades of light extend forth from the axeheads, both bisecting the creature before us. As it too dissolved into the air, I felt consciousness slipping away from me. The last thing I remember was seeing Yumi’s weapons dissolve in the same manner as he ran to me.
When I woke up a couple of days later, Mr. Yumi questioned me greatly about that time. I was able to remember things in clear detail, as I have related here, and so before long he knew everything there was to know. It was obvious to him that I was special somehow, because I had been able to freely see the demon spirit. However it was not clear until some time later what legacy I held. It was several years before I was able to ask Yumi about that time, to request an explanation for his appearance and actions. And so it was that I learned of the spirit realm. The history lessons went on for many days, teaching me of the Shinigami and Hollows, as well as the fabled Quincy, which was a title Mr. Yumi shared. Over time I learned more and more about the Quincy, and after gaining so much knowledge I yearned to learn how to utilize reiyoku as Yumi had. However it was some time before he relented and began to teach me the ways of the Quincy. Over time and with his teachings I progressed through the basics, learning how to create my very own weapon, in a form that suited me specifically. I began to train with that weapon, and my combat skills grew.
Adult Life:
When I reached 21 years of age I moved into the world, now on my own. Besides joining the work force as a skilled craftsman of all things having to do with string, thread, wire, etc, I also moonlighted in my spare time as a hunter of Hollow. Utilizing my unique set of skills I helped protect my little town from the threat of demon spirits
Rank: 7
Specialties:
Bukido (Weapon) Specialist
Sumido (Speed) Non-specialist
Points:
Reiiro: Projectile Weapons
Reibuki Manipulations: [Weapon Strength: Strong]
- {I}Repeating Crossbow Rifle:
Solidly-built repeating crossbow with a rifle stock for accurate shooting. There is no clip, but with the aid of the weapon, crossbow bolts are created out of reiatsu and spirit particles in the moment before they are fired. This crossbow is capable if firing two bolts per second at a speed a little slower than a paintball. There is a slot in the handle designed for a Ginto to be inserted and used with certain techniques. - {II}Repeating Crossbow arm attachment:
This crossbow is largely the same as the prior reibuki with a few key differences. It is much lighter, almost ridiculously so. This is because this reibuki is not designed to be handled on its own, but instead attaches to the arm of the wielder, practically becoming one with them. This is key for Naka because it leaves both hands free to do other things such as use Ginto spells. Naka was able to switch to this weapon form as his skill in using weapons increased. The other differences is that its speed increases, now able to fire four bolts a second at the same speed as a paintball. This weapon has two slots for Ginto.
The following Weapon forms are currently Locked - {III}.50 Caliber Magnum Revolver
This weapon cannot fire on its own, not with the use of its user's reiatsu alone. The only way that this weapon can be fired is by loading Ginto into it like shells (the cylinder has space for 5 shells) and firing the full force of a Ginto with every shot. This is a rather extreme attack, which has lead the coining of the term 'Hand Cannon' for this weapon form. The pistol is designed only to channel the energy of the Ginto into a given direction at the user's command, so what is released is raw power. When the pistol is fired what is released is a fast moving beam of energy, which spreads almost immediately into a horizontal pillar about 10m across, with the pistol barrel at the center of the spread. This blast can only travel 30 meters before it fizzles out since it is only the raw power, however it travels those 30 meters unbelievably fast, and the beam lasts for a full second. Anything caught with even a portion of the beam would be hit with the full power of the user's weapon strength. After the beam is finished, there must be a full second of 'recharge' time before the weapon can be fired again. Thus the pistol can only be fired a maximum of 3 times a round. Additionally, it can be fired a maximum of 10 times per thread due to the strain on the weapon. It also takes a good bit of time to load and reload this revolver, making it impossible to fire a shot in the same round as it is being reloaded.
Neo Quincey Powers:
- Name: Arrow Shower
Type: Quincy Power
Strength: Feeble - Strong [Current Level: Average]
Description: Drawing the energy from a Ginto, a user embeds it into a single arrow. That arrow is fired normally, but when the user wills it, it will basically clone itself all over the sky, creating an arrow shower. Each arrow stays pretty close to the ones next to it, within about a foot. So even though it is a large mass of arrows, they remain fairly close together. At feeble level the arrow shower is in a 5 meter diameter spread, increasing by 5 meters for each level purchased. Each arrow in the shower takes its power from the base power of the weapon. This technique can be used 1 time, +1 for every 2 user ranks. ~10m diameter spread, 4 uses~
Drawback: Must pre-load a Ginto to use this technique, which is used up with its use. Loading each Ginto takes 2 seconds, during which you cannot perform other techniques.
Restrictions: Private to Naka. PM for permission. - Name:Trap Arrow
Type: Quincy Power
Strength: Feeble - Strong [Current Level: Average]
Description: This arrow fires and damages like normal, except that when it hits a surface it stays stuck there. It then becomes a simple trap. If anyone gets near enough to it, the reiatsu stored within will jump to them and bind their movements. It would be like a weighted straight-jacket was on you, making it very hard to move around or get your arms free. The arrows stay in the ground for 1 post, +1 for every power level increase. The radius from the arrows that will spring the trap is 3 meters, +2 for every power level increase. (For example, at feeble level, if you pass within 3 meters of the arrow, you will be hit by the trap). The power of this net in terms of difficulty escaping is drawn from the base power of the weapon. This technique can be used 1 time for every rank the user has. ~Arrows remain for 2 posts, trapping in 5m radius. 7 uses~
Drawback: Trap will affect anyone - enemies, allies, user, or even people passing by.
Restrictions: Private to Naka. PM for permission. - Name: Implosion Arrow
Type: Quincy Power
Strength: Feeble - Insane [Current Level: Average]
Description: This technique is rather unique. The power of one to two Ginto are combined into a single arrow, which produces a neat effect. When the arrow is fired, it begins sucking in everything around it, everything that is near its path. This cannot suck in spiritual beings or their weapons, but it does effect everything else in the environment, both physical and spiritual. It can be as simple as sucking in air , reiatsu, or spirit particles, but it can also suck in dirt, trees, and even buildings. It sucks all of these things into a single point as it travels, as if the arrow were a void. When the arrow hits its target, or whenever the user desires, they can cause it to release its contents explosively, doing extensive damage to everything caught within it. At feeble level one Ginto is used, and this arrow will draw from a 1 foot radius around itself, yielding a 1 foot radius explosion for every 10 meters the arrow travels. (That is, if the arrow travels for 30 meters, the explosion will be 3 feet in radius). At Average level, the draw is 2 feet in radius, and the explosion is 2 feet in radius for every 10 meters. At Strong level the draw is 1 meter in radius, and the explosion is 1 meter in radius for every 10 meters. From that point, for every level increase both the draw radius and explosion radius goes up by 1 meter. Additionally, starting at Powerful level two Ginto must be used to get the same effect. The power of the explosion is drawn from the base power of the weapon. This technique can be used 1 time, +1 for every 3 user ranks. ~2ft radius draw and explosion (per 10m). 3 uses~
Drawback: Must pre-load one to two Ginto (depending on the level) to use this technique, which are used up with its use. Loading each Ginto takes 2 seconds, during which you cannot perform other techniques. The sucking effect does not apply to spiritual beings or their weapons.
Restrictions: Private to Naka. PM for permission. - Name: Net Shot
Type: Quincy Power
Strength: Feeble - Strong [Current Level: Feeble]
Description: As you fire, the arrow will quickly expand into a net form designed to entrap an opponent. This net is 3 meters in diameter, and is very sticky and difficult to escape if it hits you. If the user desires, they can delay the opening of the net so that the arrow has time to travel first. Additionally, once the net hits a surface, it will remain there for 1 turn for each level, maintaining its stickiness and serving as a trap of sorts. Additionally, the size of the net increases by 1 meter in diameter for each level. The power of this net in terms of difficulty escaping is drawn from the base power of the weapon. This technique can be used 1 time, +1 for every 2 user ranks. ~3m diameter, remains for 1 post. 4 uses~
Drawback: The net arrow fires normal speed, but once the net opens, it slows down a bit, making timing crucial.
Restrictions: Private to Naka. PM for permission. - Name: Exploding Arrow
Type: Quincy Power
Strength: Feeble - Powerful [Current Level: Feeble]
Description: Drawing the energy from a Ginto, it can be compressed into an arrow that explodes when it hits. The power of the explosion is drawn from the base power of the weapon, while the size of the explosion is determined by its rank. At feeble level the explosion is one meter in radius, and another meter is added onto the radius for each additional level of power. This technique can be used 1 time, +1 for every 2 user ranks. ~1m radius. 4 uses~
Drawback: Must pre-load a Ginto to use this technique, which is used up with its use. Loading each Ginto takes 2 seconds, during which you cannot perform other techniques.
Restrictions: Private to Naka. PM for permission. - Name: Void Arrow
Type: Quincy Power
Strength: Feeble - Strong [Current Level: Feeble]
Description: This arrow works on a similar concept as the implosion arrow, but the effect is different. The implosion arrow exists without any real substance, which means that it passes through all objects and people without damaging or effecting them in any way. The true power of this arrow comes when the user chooses to trigger it. When it is triggered, in an instant it sucks in all the material from all around it, leaving a void in its place. What is sucked in disappears forever, leaving a considerable gap in the scenery depending on how it is used. At feeble level it sucks in based on a 10 meter radius, with the radius increasing by 10 meters for every level increase. This technique can be used 1 time for every 2 ranks the user has. ~10m radius. 3 uses~
Drawback: Does not effect spiritual beings or their weapons/techniques.
Restrictions: Private to Naka. PM for permission.
Gintō Spells
- Name: Personal Barrier
Type: Ginto Spell
Strength: Feeble - Insane [Current Level: Powerful]
Description: As you chant release the reiatsu from the Ginto all around your body. At the conclusion of the chant it will be drawn to your skin until it forms a tight barrier all over your body. This barrier will block all attacks its level and below, including stuff like binding kido and traps, because it is reiatsu surrounding you. It only blocks attacks that hit after the armor is complete, however if will release you from binding spells as it is activated. It also will reflect attacks in a sense, such as causing a sword to rebound back, or a kido spell to bounce off. However the user has little control over this affect, so use the honor system to role play it out. For example, most kido will bounce off, but you cannot control where it bounces to.
Drawback:The user is weighed down with the reiatsu surrounding them, and their speed is greatly reduced (about 1/2). It is also impossible to use hirenkyaku while this is active.
Incantation: Liquid armour, cast your eternal veil!
Restrictions: Must be Quincy. Lasts for up to 1 post, +1 every 5 levels, but it can be canceled at any time. - Name: Energy Salvo
Type: Ginto Spell
Strength: Feeble - Insane [Current Level: Powerful]
Description: Releasing the reiatsu into your palm as you chant, it will harden there and glow significantly. Then the user will typically raise their palm up, pointing it towards their target (this is not required). They can then proceed to fire off several blasts of reiatsu. Upon leaving their palm the blast will expand a bit, to one foot in diameter. This blast is basically a disk; it will damage an opponent normally, but it can also be used to combat enemy spells and powers. If encountering a weaker spell or power, the disk will overpower it and continue, with reduced power. If encountering a spell with equal rank, the two will cancel each other out. These blasts can be fired pretty fast, at a rate of two blasts per second. However by 'charging up' for a moment you can combine two blasts into one, which causes the disk to double in size, and causes a small explosion (1 meter radius) when it hits. This explosion is the same power as the attack. This technique starts at 3 blasts. For every 2 ranks the user has, they can do one additional blast per use. ~6 Blasts~
Drawback: Cannot stop firing once started, must expend all the blasts.
Incantation: Raging super nova, unleash your vengeance upon the cosmos!
Restrictions: Must be Quincy - Name: Entrapment
Type: Ginto Spell
Strength: Feeble - Insane [Current Level: Feeble]
Description: As you chant, pour out the Ginto onto your arm. It will run down and pool in your palm, mixing with your reiatsu as you complete the spell. When the chanting is done, the energy will form into a ball, that you can then throw at the ground or into the air, anywhere within 20 meters of your location. When the ball reaches its intended location it will spread out evenly in a disk shape, in directions determined by the user, to a radius determined by its power level. When it is cast the reiatsu spread is visible, but once it reaches the limits of the radius it will shimmer for a moment and then vanish. However it remains there for some time, serving as a trap of sorts.
Any spiritual presence or spell that hits any portion of the trap will be held there stuck for one second, and then slowed by 50% for the following second. However once a trap is triggered, it disappears, so it can only affect one thing. At feeble level this trap has a diameter of 2 meters, and each time it is upgraded the diameter increases 2 meters. This can be cast 3 times per thread, +1 for every 4 user ranks.
Drawback: This field can be created anywhere, but only exists in basically two dimensions. (only one meter tall, and however wide/long based on its rank)
Incantation: Seeker of the north, south, west and east, spread your web!
Restrictions: Must be Quincy
Neo Quincey Items:
- Name:Spirit Boots
Type: Quincy Item
Strength: Feeble - Extreme [Current Level: Powerful (80%)]
Description: This item is a pair of boots, white with a dark red swirl pattern all over them. A Quincy can wear these boots in top of their normal footwear with no issues. When activated these boots will grant a significant speed boost for the user, depending on the level. This speed increase is due to the fact that the boots allow the user to slide around constantly, just as if they were using Hirenkyaku, but slower. These boots will work on the ground of course, but they will also work in the air if the user is capable of airwalking. These boots are activated by knocking the heels together with a certain method. Once activated, the boots will last for 1 turn, +1 for every 2 user levels. At feeble level, the boots grant a 20% boost in speed, with each additional rank adding another 20%, until the boost at extreme rank is 100%, which is equal to being one specialist point higher. ~80% boost for 4 turns~
Drawback: As with all Quincy items this can only be used once per thread.
Restrictions: Must be Quincy
General Skills
- Reiatsu Control III
- Airwalking
