Gabriel is a tall and well built individual with long dark blonde hair usually worn loose or tied back into a low top knot. His eyes are blue (and have on occasion have been referred to as a cold blue to be precise) and portray an intelligence and wisdom typical of one commissioned to the 1st Division.
Considering his height and weight, it is unsurprising that he is well built (since he certainly isn't fat to look at and lives quite a physical lifestyle). His body is well toned, the result of regular intense exercise and positive eating. Gabriel believes a healthy mind encourages a healthy body and vice versa, so practices keeping both in excellent shape.
History:
Gabriel Diomedes lived a rich life as a mortal on Earth. He had friends and family that he loved and they loved him in return. In his most youthful of days he attended school, his parents had high hopes he'd be a lawyer and it certainly seemed he had the brains for it. However, he was never one for "a life lived ordinary" and after completing school he enlisted with the military.
Gabriel would on go to serve in an Earth special forces military unit where he would go on to do many great things, for himself and others. He would form bonds of brotherhood, see smiles of hope long thought lost and take photos any man would be proud of. Gabriel Diomedes was killed in action but was treated to a hero's funeral with full honours.
His arrival in Soul Society was, like many others perhaps, a rather a surprising turn of events. It wasn't an afterlife he had expected, should he have expected one at all. Diomedes would go on to prosper though, he had lived a good life and would live a good afterlife. He did not spend long in the dusty streets outside the Shinigami's city and quite quickly found himself in the Soul Slayer Academy. With a cool and level head combined with the experience he gained during his mortal life, it went well to say the least.
Having gradated from the academy at the top of his class, he was sent to the 1st Division where now he trains to further himself and attends his duties so that one day he might be an officer and perhaps more.

In its sealed form Kami no Ikari is a very typical katana. It has a shining silver blade with the words "The purity of our hearts, the strength of our limbs and our commitment to our promise" that being the motto of the special forces group he was a part of in his mortal life. The handle of Kami no ikari is golden, with a very deep red braid. The guard is a similar dark red and forms a square shape. The scabbard is, like the braid and guard, the same red colour.
Manifestation:
Kami no ikari manifests as an eight foot tall and extremely powerfully built monk. His chest is built like that of a Greek God and features a thick scar running from top to bottom running the center. It is only adorned in a set of prayer beads around its neck and a pair of loose fitting cloth pants held in place by a black belt. His head is bald and eyes a blank white. His face appears to be permanently in a scowl, his chin is covered by white facial hair which descends into a pair of surprisingly well groomed braids.
Inner World:
The inner world of Diomedes' Zanpakutou is a clearing on a snowy mountain peak. Although other mountains can be seen in the distance, the particular clearing appears to go on forever, with further distance coming into view the further one travels.
Release Phrase: Kami no ikari wa, ten kara orite, zenmetsu sa seru! Wrath of God, descend from the heavens and obliterate!
Abilities:
Subete o hakai suru - Destroy everything
Close combat range, Subete o hakai suru is in face a "passive" technique, always active in this melee type zanpakutou. This ability (or perhaps traits is a more suitable term) makes each attack cause more collateral damage then a zanpakutou of a similar power level. For instance, walls tend to shatter more easily, as does the ground or resistant materials. When striking opponents, this can result in an increased rate of attacks knocking an opponent off balance or potentially knocking a weapon from their hands.
As would might expect, this does not make each attack he makes of equivalent power to an "activated" ability, such as an energy blast of some sort. It actually grants a minor increase in the potency of every attack made, when all these little attacks mount up however, it proves its value.
