The reaper did not even look at me as I spoke. Typical shinigami behavior, simply rude. She responded in a variation of what she had said to the boy. "I am only here because I am going through this area, making sure the hollows don't attack the people in these parts. I also wanted to come back to a place that I remember before I died. If you think I'm bad, then you are wrong. I just do my job."
I noticed that during our interactions the boy had quickly located me, but he did not speak. I could only assume he was either intimidated by my appearance, or perhaps he was simply listening before he spoke. An admirable trait. I would gaze towards him as I spoke once more to the shinigami. I did not respond directly to her, but spoke on her earlier comment to the boy. "I find it interesting that you told the boy you have no connection to the hollows, when in fact the truth is quite a bit different. You see," I was speaking directly to the boy now; "Her spiritual presence drawn them near, just as yours does. The more of her kind that intrude upon our town, the more hollows there are. What say you to that, death-bringer?"
I was curious as to how the boy would react to my statements. Although my comments were quite direct and could perhaps even be considered attacks, my tone of voice was not hostile, nor my demeanor angry, but almost condescending in fact. I simply delivered the facts. Not but a moment had passed before I would continue, not really giving either of them a change to answer. "Several more of the beasts draw closer as we speak, drawn to the both of you." I said quietly.
Kuroi would manage to bring her gaze up to the man on the roof who spoke. "You seem to know a lot about me, my dear. I don't personally wish to bring the things here though, you know. If one comes around I can kill it. Anyways, could you at least have courtesy to tell me your name? And how can one as you know about someone like me? You are different, I can tell that, and you seem like you know much about hollows. Perhaps if they come you can demonstrate your skills?" She seemed to challenge him in a way. A smile slowly crept across her face. So, hollows were about to come, eh? Well, maybe this guy would demonstrate for her how good he is. Maybe give her a slight show.
Kuroi would bring her gaze back down to the boy who seemed to just be listening in to the conversation. Perhaps he was thinking of something to say, or waiting to hear the facts before saying anything. The boy before her seemed to have a spiritual pressure just like her own, as the man had said. "Why are you verbally attacking me, darling, when you say that this boy here has spiritual pressure and attracts them too?" she said, swinging her gaze back up to speak, hold it there for a moment, then bring it back down. Thoughts traced their way through her brain and she sighed. Oh, this may just be interesting.
Masaru merely sat back, listening to the two people talk and absorbing all that they said. The man spoke first, claiming that Kuroi’s ‘spiritual pressure’ as well as his own drew in these hollow creatures. He couldn’t comprehend some of that, what was spiritual pressure anyway? The idea itself was however very easy to understand. Soul Reaper were tied to the Hollow, one brought the other. Then the newcomer said something that he understood all too well, "Several more of the beasts draw closer as we speak, drawn to the both of you." Masaru glanced at their surroundings, he couldn’t see anyone else their besides themselves. Did he see them from up on the roof? No, he had said that while looking at them. Did that mean he could sense them? It seemed a unbelievable concept, but then again he had seen many impossible things today already.
Now Kuroi responded. She admitted that she brought the hollows before inquiring about the man. That brought up a good point. He had learned that the girl before him was a Soul Reaper, whatever that was, but he still had no idea who or what this man was. Neither with the Soul Reapers nor with the demonic hollows, who did he work for? It was beginning to sink in for Masaru, their was a whole other world going on behind the scenes. A spiritual war that very few people could see. How long had this war been going on? How many sides were there?
In his hand his chess piece pulsed, shaking Masaru from his thoughts. That was right, whatever was happening to the world didn’t matter right now. Kage had reminded him of why he had come out here, to destroy these beasts. Now, his gaze was on the horizon looking for the beasts the man had mentioned. He would still listen to their ongoing conversation however, he had a feeling that he would need this information later on.
The shinigami before me continued to speak, in response. Perhaps if they come you can demonstrate your skills?"
A dry chuckle would escape my lips. I may have to give her such a show; I would think. "Why are you verbally attacking me, darling, when you say that this boy here has spiritual pressure and attracts them too?"
My name is Naka, not that it means anything to you. You must know by now that I am no normal human, but I suppose you have not been around long enough (a polite referencing of her lack of experience) to see many of my kind, nor to realize that I am preventing you from sensing me. However I suspect that will change soon, as I will be obligated to defend this area from the forces coming ever closer, forces who's only desire is to corrupt this town with their evil."
I would pause, taking a brief moment to reach out with my senses, gaining an ever clearer picture of the hollows descending on our position. "It is only because you seemed to lie to the boy that I commented on that at all. Before long you will both learn to conceal your presence as I do, which will help greatly in the quest towards attracting less hollows to this place."
Three of them closed on our position, fairly low ranked hollows. Definitely stronger than these two, although not overly so. My expression would grow grim for a moment, considering all those who might be injured in a battle right on the edge of the market. The best option would be to allow the shinigami and human to take them on, with me serving as backup, since releasing my reiatsu would probably only serve to attract more. However, with three attacking I was not sure I could be confident in their abilities, and if I had to attack later on, we might be even worse off.
Finally I decided to attack right off the bat, since that seemed prudent in the given situation. I could see the hollows now, still quite a ways off still. They were in a pretty tight cluster, meaning that using my crossbow was probably the best bet, maybe with the arrow shower technique.... However each Ginto took time to load in, which is more time they would have to attack, and more time that others would be attracted.
Both of them would see me pause for what seemed like a while after speaking, looking off into the distance. Before long even their undeveloped senses would warn them of the impending attack, and they might look up to find the three hollow rapidly descending from the sky. Each flew with leathery wings but seemed pretty generic otherwise, with the typical white masks and dark bodies, complete with sharp claws.
The human and reaper might be abruptly distracted at this point, as a new spiritual presence was felt in this area. With a thought I released my reiatsu from its confines, causing a spiritual shockwave of sorts to resonate throughout the area. Anything nearby would be immediately aware of my presence, its energy eclipsing that of the hollows, reaper, and human alike. (I am having trouble gauging exactly how much difference 7 ranks would make in terms of spiritual presence, but I estimate it to be around 2-3 times; use your own judgement.) Along with this release, they might hear the strong utterance of my Ginto incantation.
Raging super nova, unleash your vengeance upon the cosmos!
With those words, a dark red stream of reiatsu would pour forth from from the little silver tube into the palm of my right hand, pooling and holding there. As I finished the chant, I raised my right hand to the sky, now glowing in the same almost blood colored red, aiming at the trio of enemies. Without delay a staccato series of 6 blasts would release from my palm in quick succession, all within 3 short seconds. Each blast would grow into a disk instantly, flying at speed across the sky to impact with devastation. The first blast was aimed at the biggest hollow, tearing one of its wings apart at the root. The following blasts tore into the two smaller ones, ripping them apart until they both dissolved. The spell finished, the big one continued to fall, flailing on a single wing, heading right towards us.
As I had feared, even such a brief outburst had attracted several more hollows, who were heading towards us even now. "Looks like we are gonna have us a rodeo." I commented, almost offhandedly.
Name: Energy Salvo Type: Ginto Spell Strength: Feeble - Insane [Current Level: Powerful] Description: Releasing the reiatsu into your palm as you chant, it will harden there and glow significantly. Then the user will typically raise their palm up, pointing it towards their target (this is not required). They can then proceed to fire off several blasts of reiatsu. Upon leaving their palm the blast will expand a bit, to one foot in diameter. This blast is basically a disk; it will damage an opponent normally, but it can also be used to combat enemy spells and powers. If encountering a weaker spell or power, the disk will overpower it and continue, with reduced power. If encountering a spell with equal rank, the two will cancel each other out. These blasts can be fired pretty fast, at a rate of two blasts per second. However by 'charging up' for a moment you can combine two blasts into one, which causes the disk to double in size, and causes a small explosion (1 meter radius) when it hits. This explosion is the same power as the attack. This technique starts at 3 blasts. For every 2 ranks the user has, they can do one additional blast per use. ~6 Blasts~ Drawback: Cannot stop firing once started, must expend all the blasts. Incantation: Raging super nova, unleash your vengeance upon the cosmos! Restrictions: Must be Quincy
Kuroi rested her hand on the guard of her zanpakuto as she listened to the man speak. "My name is Naka, not that it means anything to you. You must know by now that I am no normal human, but I suppose you have not been around long enough to see many of my kind, nor to realize that I am preventing you from sensing me. However I suspect that will change soon, as I will be obligated to defend this area from the forces coming ever closer, forces who's only desire is to corrupt this town with their evil." This Naka guy seemed to be quite experienced, even Kuroi herself could tell. A smile slowly crept across her face. Oh, this would definitely be interesting. It was true that Kuroi had never seen someone quite like him. He wasn't human and he was not her own kind. She bit her lip trying to think. When she was in the academy they taught her about another race but she could not place the name of it. Hmm.. she would think to herself. Suddenly, he spoke once more. "It is only because you seemed to lie to the boy that I commented on that at all. Before long you will both learn to conceal your presence as I do, which will help greatly in the quest towards attracting less hollows to this place." She opened her mouth to speak and then closed it, holding back her words. She did not even know what to say to that. She had heard about concealing presence but it was a skill that she had not quite learned yet. In time... she would think to herself once more. She managed a quick glance over at the boy a few feet away from her. He seemed to still be listening in on the conversation. She truly did wonder what sort of abilities that he had but she could tell that he was inexperienced and did not know how to use their full potential quite yet. She returned her gaze to the man.
Kuroi would open her mouth to speak of her own name, but before she could, her eyes were drawn to three shapes suddenly descending from the sky. Damn... More hollows. That Naka guy was right... she would think before pulling her zanpakuto from its sheath. Her body seemed to suddenly feel as if it were being pushed by some invisible force. She looked up at Naka, and he seemed to have let himself loose. He spoke an incantation, words barely able to be made out over the shriek of the hollows who stepped foot upon this world. It seemed to be some sort of power just like soul reaper's kido. Hmm.. Interesting. He launched his spell and managed to defeat two of the smaller hollows with small blasts. Damn, he was powerful. She couldn't help but notice that the larger hollow, one wing torn off, was barreling towards her and the others. She barely had time to react so it wouldn't crash into her. A quick shunpo brought her up to level with it. He seemed to have damaged it enough for her to be able to hit it. As it reached her position, she swung her zanpakuto down upon its mask, slicing down through it and letting the monster disintegrate. She had been slightly pushed backwards from the speed it came towards her, and felt her body fly backwards, hitting a building. She stood herself up, re-sheathing her zanpakuto. She took a few moments to catch her breath and wondered if there would be more where those came from. She would be ready this time. "Oh, by the way. My name is Kuroi Ame. Second Division. What even are you, Naka? Your power is not like I have seen in the soul society." she would briefly speak after standing up and preparing for more hollows.
Masaru was still scanning his surroundings when he heard the mystery man speak "My name is Naka, not that it means anything to you. You must know by now that I am no normal human, but I suppose you have not been around long enough to see many of my kind, nor to realize that I am preventing you from sensing me. However I suspect that will change soon, as I will be obligated to defend this area from the forces coming ever closer, forces who's only desire is to corrupt this town with their evil." The young man merely nodded, noting the name. Already his back was to the others, waiting and ready to face the incoming hollows that Naka had stated were moving towards them.
Their seemed to be a pause, a tense moment where everything was silent as he along with the other two waited. To Masaru it felt like the “calm before the storm”. That all ended when the young man felt a shockwave hit him. It was not the blast however that surprised him, but the fact that it had come from behind him. As he tried to turn another change became apparent. The air had become… denser. He struggled to breath for a moment, before his body adjusted. ’Is this that spiritual pressure they mentioned?’ he thought as he realized that this feeling was emanating from the man on the building. Before his eyes Naka began speaking, a chant of some sorts. Shortly after he gathered red energy in his hand before shooting six bolts into the air. Watching the shots fire he eventually saw the hollows moments before the energy attacks tore them apart.
No, the biggest one was still alive. It’s wing was torn however and was now falling and rapidly approaching him and Kuroi. Before he could react Kuroi teleported, he was used to it by now, and had slashed the beast across his mask. The force had thrown her back again but it had also caused the hollow in question to disintegrate like the others had. Yet as he looked around, neither Kuroi nor Naka seemed convinced that the battle was over. “Destroy the approaching hollows.” He muttered under his breath as he held out his hand. Once more the piece sunk into his shadow, causing it to shift and grow. “Arise Black Pawns.” He commanded once the portal had formed, and the black creatures he had summoned earlier reappeared around him. He had drawn out as many as he could and now their numbers were seven. This time however he mentally restrained them, surrounding himself with shields if need be. As they hissed in anticipation, Masaru glared at the horizon.
"Looks like we are gonna have us a rodeo." He heard which almost caused a grin to form on the young man’s face. If Masaru could get his hands on those demons it would hardly be that civil.
My Ginto spell complete, I would promptly form my weapon. A great swirl of spirit particles would zone in upon my right arm, shifting in color from black to a deep red. I held my arm out as the particles collected, and then with a thought they would rush together and solidify into a crossbow of sorts, attached to my right forearm. As soon as it was formed I would aim it at the falling hollow, but the Shinigami was in the way, jumping forth and ending it. Hmph.
In an instant, I was on the ground near them both, using speeds that the eye could not follow [2/10 Hirenkyaku]. My crossbow sat easily on my arm, its color quickly fading from a dark red to a more normal black and silver, but if one were to look at it, every so often it would seem to pulse with energy, and in those moments its true red would show through. The girl had been thrown into a nearby building, and was just picking herself up and dusting off, while the boy continued to stand nearby.
"Oh, by the way. My name is Kuroi Ame. Second Division. What even are you, Naka? Your power is not like I have seen in the soul society."
I knew not of the divisions of shinigami, but I did know the answer to what it was she had asked me. "Indeed not, I'd imagine.... I am a Quincy, guardian of this world and its people."
As I answered, I could just overhear the boy whispering, but it did not seem that he was talking to us. “Destroy the approaching hollows.” Would we get to witness more of his power? Indeed. “Arise Black Pawns.” More whispers, and from the shadows of the ground arose the figures from before, counting 7 now. I nodded briefly, interested to see more of his power in the future, but also satisfied with his contribution for the moment.
I could hear the roar of hollows in the distance, drawing closer. They would arrive at any minute. I quickly busied myself in preparation, pulling forth 2 more Ginto from my pockets and inserting them into the crossbow, leaving a third resting in the palm of my left hand.
{Next to post should outline the approaching hollows and such}
Kuroi would smirk, listening to the hollow's screech. She was anticipating some more fights, and was getting excited thinking about it. Finally, a reason why she could perhaps get a seat in her squad. Actually be something for a change. What Naka had said to her that he was though, rang a slight bell. She vaguely remembered talking about them in the academy, but even if she did, it was for a brief time. "Indeed not, I'd imagine.... I am a Quincy, guardian of this world and its people." He had told her that he was something called a Quincy. No wonder he had such strange powers. The shriek of the hollows came even closer now, and she readied herself, hand on sword. Maybe she would use a bit of kido this time, but she realized that the boy a few meters away now, was summoning some sort of black pawns; like from a game of chess. She was pretty sure that was where they were from, although she had never personally played or ever liked chess. She was curious too, about the boy's own powers. "Hey, Masaru. I think that's what you told me your name was. What even are you? You are different, can definitely tell that. Do you even know what you are?" She did not want to come off in a mocking type tone, but she was afraid that she had.
Suddenly, six hollows came down from the sky, the hole opening up just enough for them to all come through, then closing. Shit, already? she thought to herself. She had to decide which kido would work better. She wanted to use something offensive, not binding, there was no need to bind just yet. She examined her prey closely. Four of the six hollows seemed to be smaller than the other two. They had long skinny white bodies with the obvious masks where a face would be. Damn ugly monsters. The other two however, where slightly bigger, looking hard to defeat. This would not be that hard, and maybe they would just keep on coming, and she could easily rid of them. Oh boy, that would make her a bit more known within the soul society. She soon drew her attention back to the hollows.
The two larger hollows drew back from the other four. They seemed to let their own comrades do the fighting for them, maybe weaken the group, so they could happily feed on them. The four smaller ones came towards them, separating in two direction; two came towards her, and the other two came towards the boy. She hoped he could manage on his own. Those two small ones should not be any problem for him, he seemed to be able to handle himself quite fine. Now returning her attention to these two coming towards her, she drew her sword quickly. She would be ready when they came towards her, and she would be able to defeat them, she had to. A smirk crossed her face, ready for battle once more.
OOC: Four smaller hollows should be ranked around 1 or 2. The two larger ones around 4 or 5.
Masaru heard yet another cry ring out in the distance, it was only a matter of time now. As he waited impatiently he saw in the corner of his eye the man who had named himself Naka appear beside them, weapon in hand. "Indeed not, I'd imagine.... I am a Quincy, guardian of this world and its people." Quincy, so that was the name of the second organization. Although they stated they were different, his position sounded exactly like that of the Shinigami.
However now was not the time to ponder, shortly after Naka’s arrival the Soul Reaper spoke, aiming the question at him this time "Hey, Masaru. I think that's what you told me your name was. What even are you? You are different, can definitely tell that. Do you even know what you are?" Masaru paused, that was a good question. Where did he fall into all of this? Both of these people sounded like defenders, members of some group. He himself however was neither of these. He glanced at his temporary allies in battle before responding, ”All I know is that I was given this power so that I could destroy my enemies.” It didn’t provide much information, but then again it was about all he himself knew.
Their conversation would have to end as what seemed to be a whole was torn open in the sky. It should have shocked Masaru, yet he was past the point of being surprised at the impossible. From that hole six creatures crawled out, hollows. The young man gave another mental command, restraining his pawns as they attempted to rush out. It would seem two of the demons, bigger in comparison to the others, were holding back. A concept he himself knew all to well, you always send the pawns out first. The others however kept their course charging at the three of them. He watched as they split up, two aiming for him and his summons.
’Now’ he thought, giving the command to his own pawns. With a hiss of delight six of his shadow minions rushed out to meet the two. They did not immeaiantly attack however, two of his pawns stopped short of the charging hollows. Instead they attempted to bar the path so that the beasts would stop. The other four who remained charging would split up and instead of attacking would begin to surround the two beasts. If the demons were as stupid as Masaru believed, they would soon be surrounded on all sides by his pawns.
As the boy used his powers, the shinigami questioned him once more. "Hey, Masaru. I think that's what you told me your name was. What even are you? You are different, can definitely tell that. Do you even know what you are?" His response was fairly immediate, though uninformed. ”All I know is that I was given this power so that I could destroy my enemies.” The hollows were already beginning to appear, so I had to make my reply quick. "Your kind are called Advents, spiritually aware humans who have encountered spiritual beings and developed related powers of their own accord. You will learn more about yourself in time."
And then there was no more time for talking, as 6 hollows of various sizes appeared from the void. Directly from the other world, hmm. The 4 smallest split up, attacking my weaker companions. The other two stayed back for now though, waiting. Both my companions prepared quickly, it did not seem they would have much difficulty, respectively. So it was left to me to take on the two leaders, and so I would.
First I pointed my right arm towards the hollows, and fired a single arrow. As it raced towards them I hoped they were arrogant, because this might not work if they were too cautious. As I watched it travel I used the moment to remove and replace the spent Ginto. In short order my hopes were rewarded, as they simply separated slightly in the sky, snickering to themselves as they 'dodged' out of the apparent path of the arrow. But I would be having the last laugh. As the arrow neared, a smile crossed over my features for a moment. Because right as it was about to pass by them, the arrow would suddenly expand, using the power imbued in it by the Ginto to duplicate itself in a vast radius.
I chose that moment to move, tapping my 'shoes' together in a certain fashion, and began to glide upwards with great speed, almost twice my normal top speed. As I ascended into the sky, my feet lit with a red glow, the howls and screams of the hollows above cut into the air. Because of the arrow's nearness to them when it suddenly duplicated across 10 meters of the sky, it was practically impossible for them to dodge in time. Which resulted in them getting cut and torn to pieces with the numerous arrows. The one on the right, just slightly smaller of the two, began to fall towards me. No airwalk..? I began to spray arrows towards him with my crossbow, quickly compounding the damage until he dissolved with another howl. It seemed the other big one was at least strong enough to stay in the air, and had used Sonido to escape the immediate vicinity of the arrow shower. Furthermore, I caught a quick glimpse of a growing red orb in this open mouth. Shit, cero.
Quickly I used a Hirenkyaku [3/10] to gain some altitude quickly. As I waited for him to finish charging, I took comfort in the fact that his attack was aimed at me and would not harm the town below us. Another Ginto slipped into my left hand, murmured words barely audible as it poured into my left hand. "Seeker of the north, south, west and east, spread your web!" Suddenly a bright red beam lanced out at me, and I shot downwards [4/10 Hirenkyaku], narrowly avoiding it even as I tossed a curiously red orb at his feet. In but a second his attack ended, but he would find it impossible to move, at least in that moment. And it was in that moment that I raced ever closer to him, stopping just short in the blink of an eye [6/10 Hirenkyaku]. A low pitched sound issued from his mouth as I raised my crossbow to his face, issuing a single arrow directly into his mask, from point blank range. His voice echoed through the area as he slowly dissipated, back into the void.
Nooooooooooooo"
And suddenly, I was gone. Vanished from the sky, and my reiatsu once more repressed. All that remained was a faint glow in the sky where my weapon had dissolved, and a rapidly fading trail of reiatsu particles heading downward into another part of the market [10/10 Hirenkyaku].
/le graceful exit due to muse decreasing. We shall meet again, in another time and place.
{II}Repeating Crossbow arm attachment: This crossbow is largely the same as the prior reibuki with a few key differences. It is much lighter, almost ridiculously so. This is because this reibuki is not designed to be handled on its own, but instead attaches to the arm of the wielder, practically becoming one with them. This is key for Naka because it leaves both hands free to do other things such as use Ginto spells. Naka was able to switch to this weapon form as his skill in using weapons increased. The other differences is that its speed increases, now able to fire four bolts a second at the same speed as a paintball. This weapon has two slots for Ginto.
Name: Arrow Shower Type: Quincy Power Strength: Feeble - Strong [Current Level: Average] Description: Drawing the energy from a Ginto, a user embeds it into a single arrow. That arrow is fired normally, but when the user wills it, it will basically clone itself all over the sky, creating an arrow shower. Each arrow stays pretty close to the ones next to it, within about a foot. So even though it is a large mass of arrows, they remain fairly close together. At feeble level the arrow shower is in a 5 meter diameter spread, increasing by 5 meters for each level purchased. Each arrow in the shower takes its power from the base power of the weapon. This technique can be used 1 time, +1 for every 2 user ranks. ~10m diameter spread, 4 uses~ Drawback: Must pre-load a Ginto to use this technique, which is used up with its use. Loading each Ginto takes 2 seconds, during which you cannot perform other techniques. Restrictions: Private to Naka. PM for permission.
Name:Spirit Boots Type: Quincy Item Strength: Feeble - Extreme [Current Level: Powerful (80%)] Description: This item is a pair of boots, white with a dark red swirl pattern all over them. A Quincy can wear these boots in top of their normal footwear with no issues. When activated these boots will grant a significant speed boost for the user, depending on the level. This speed increase is due to the fact that the boots allow the user to slide around constantly, just as if they were using Hirenkyaku, but slower. These boots will work on the ground of course, but they will also work in the air if the user is capable of airwalking. These boots are activated by knocking the heels together with a certain method. Once activated, the boots will last for 1 turn, +1 for every 2 user levels. At feeble level, the boots grant a 20% boost in speed, with each additional rank adding another 20%, until the boost at extreme rank is 100%, which is equal to being one specialist point higher. ~80% boost for 4 turns~ Drawback: As with all Quincy items this can only be used once per thread. Restrictions: Must be Quincy
[/li][li]Name: Entrapment Type: Ginto Spell Strength: Feeble - Insane [Current Level: Feeble] Description: As you chant, pour out the Ginto onto your arm. It will run down and pool in your palm, mixing with your reiatsu as you complete the spell. When the chanting is done, the energy will form into a ball, that you can then throw at the ground or into the air, anywhere within 20 meters of your location. When the ball reaches its intended location it will spread out evenly in a disk shape, in directions determined by the user, to a radius determined by its power level. When it is cast the reiatsu spread is visible, but once it reaches the limits of the radius it will shimmer for a moment and then vanish. However it remains there for some time, serving as a trap of sorts. Any spiritual presence or spell that hits any portion of the trap will be held there stuck for one second, and then slowed by 50% for the following second. However once a trap is triggered, it disappears, so it can only affect one thing. At feeble level this trap has a diameter of 2 meters, and each time it is upgraded the diameter increases 2 meters. This can be cast 3 times per thread, +1 for every 4 user ranks. Drawback: This field can be created anywhere, but only exists in basically two dimensions. (only one meter tall, and however wide/long based on its rank) Incantation: Seeker of the north, south, west and east, spread your web! Restrictions: Must be Quincy[/quote] [/font]
Kuroi would draw her sword quickly from its sheath once more. A grin crossed her face quickly. She was prepared for these two bastards to attack her. She managed a glimpse at Masaru a few meters away. He had once more drawn his pawns and was going in to make his move. A glance to my other side, noticed Naka going in for the kill of the two larger ones. Hmph. Thinks hes a big shot, eh? Going in alone at the two larger ones. Then again... he was quite powerful. A smirk drew across her face. She sword positioned in front of her, ready to slash at the damn monsters. The first one of the couple drew quickly forward, leaving its comrade behind. Stupid choice. She could easily kill them now, even easier than before. Kuroi was indeed curious about the other guy, that Naka man. His power did indeed seem powerful; but she could not stand and watch him while she herself was under attack. Maybe another time she would but not now. She noticed that the one hollow coming towards her was near enough that she had to move fast if she were to evade. One quick jump to the side was all it took. Once it strode past, a quick jump in the air above it and her sword drawing down upon its mask was all that it took. It disappeared into the air and her smirk grew larger, even happier now to kill.
This hollow noticed the shriek of its comrade as it was defeated. This seemed to in a way to anger it. Kuroi was still happily celebrating in her mind the defeat of one of the bastards. This was easier than she had ever imagined, noting how she had just became a soul reaper not long previously. This celebrating within her mind was a bad decision because as she turned around to face the next contestant, it was just too close. One swipe of its arm was all that it took to throw her back against the side of the building. Kuroi would take a quick look down at her arm. Three thin trails of blood resided there. They would clot though, she wouldn't have to worry about being hurt. She put the pain behind her and prepared to take revenge on the other hollow. It decided it could easily push her around, therefore she would teach it a lesson on how to deal with her. A quick run forward towards it and she felt a tremble of a wave of spiritual pressure. Heh. Naka must be doing something with those big fellas. Once the wave passed her completely she ran towards the hollow, quickly stepping to the right, intending on hitting it from the side. This guy seemed to succeed more in hand to hand than with speed. It was still slightly faster than her but not by much. She went in for a side hit, but the dumb thing turned around to face her, and she got its mask instead. Well, it worked better than I hoped. This hollow to had been defeated. She turned to glance over at the so called Advent. Naka's words still rang in her mind, a race she had not encountered before. An advent... Yes. That is what he had called the boy.
A shriek sounded from the larger hollows and she turned to face Naka, seeing he had defeated the two larger ones. Mm.. Pretty damn strong that man. I'd like to speak with him sometime. the thought ran through her mind. Before she could do anything about speaking though, he was gone. She returned her attention to the boy.
Masaru watched the battle unfold as shinigami, quincy, and shadow beast clashed with the demonic horde. The young man had one advantage that the others did not. Since he himself didn’t fight directly this gave him the opportunity to truly see what the other two could accomplish.
The man spoke to him quickly before he left "Your kind are called Advents, spiritually aware humans who have encountered spiritual beings and developed related powers of their own accord. You will learn more about yourself in time." So that’s what he was, an Advent? Masaru had little time to process the information before Naka launched his attack. The newly appointed Advent watched the man, awed despite himself, at the battle. The quincy had tackled the two earlier ones who had maintained their distance. The ones Masaru himself had reasoned were the leaders. What happened next happened in a blink of an eye. Giant beams of energy and dozens of arrows flew across the open sky. All of this happened while the two combatants also floated, treating the air as if it were solid as ground. Whoever this Naka guy was, it was apparent to Masaru that he held a far greater power than he himself had.
Turning his focus to the ground, it was just as hectic. His pawns had successfully surrounded the two hollows, preventing any retreat. From their it was child’s play. With every attack they launched they left themselves open to an attack from a pawn on their rear. The hollows were indeed stronger, but their bulky appearance made them easier to dodge for the smaller summons. Soon their cries of anger and rage turned into that of pain. When it was all said and done both eventually fell, disintegrating into black ash like those before. Even so the demons had not given up without a fight and of the six that attacked only two remained, hissing at the sky in victory.
Kuroi herself had also settled her fight, showing her deft swordsmanship as she felled both of her adversaries with a single slash of her sword. As Masaru looked around again he let out the breath, which he hadn’t even known he had been holding. His pawns faded from view, and his chess piece rose from his own shadow. As everything seemed to calm down and the adrenaline in him faded, the young advent felt a wave of exhaustion. ’It seems that summoning those things takes some stamina’ he mentally noted as he leaned against a wall.
Looking around he noticed that Naka was gone, although he highly doubted the quincy had died. He cursed under his breath. Someone who knew about his power and now he was gone. He then spotted that Kuroi was looking at him. ”So what happens now soul reaper?”
Mmm... So the boy has incredible strength, it seems. The only thing holding him back is the fact that he can't very well control it to its full ability. She smirked at this thought. Kuroi was indeed curious about who exactly this boy really was. Was he a friend or an enemy even? She had to find out more. She'd speak to him soon though. She knew all the pressure released from the fight would bring more hollows later on, but in the mean time she could take him somewhere. Perhaps some sort of cafe. She didn't know but perhaps he knew of a place. "Masaru. More hollows are to come. But not at this time. Give or take forty-five minutes. I'm not going back to the soul society until I defeat as many as I possibly can. I've scanned the area and its surroundings already, so when I get the order to defeat another you can come and we can test out your real powers. Although, I'd like to find more about you. Is there some sort of cafe that we can go to? Somewhere that people will not hear much of our conversation. I don't need disruptions. Her purple tinted eyes gazed directly at him. Humans seemed to enjoy eye contact. She cocked her head to the side.
Kuroi had last been in this world many years ago. It seemed to change a great amount since she had been. The population also seemed to have increased. She never particularly enjoyed people, but they were something that she indeed had to deal with. She started walking back towards the entrance to the ally way, her black robes being blown back by a slight breeze as she re-sheathed her zanpakuto.
OOC: Just so you know.. I'll be milking this thread for all its worth. We can both then get a rank up. There will be a much larger scaled battle soon to come. That's after our characters talk to give you an idea of the time frame. Sorry for short post also.
As Masaru caught his breath, he watched the young soul reaper. Whether from his question or from the previous events, she seemed to be in deep thought. It took only a moment however before she spoke up,"Masaru. I don't need disruptions.”
Pulling himself up off the wall he had been leaning against he thought about what Kuroi had said. So more were coming? As he thought about it he remembered that the man named Naka seemed to be able to sense their presence as well. Perhaps this woman has the same ability, if so he would have to figure out how. Still, forty five minutes seemed plenty of time. As long as this woman was giving away information Masaru saw no harm in following her suggestion.
Kuroi’s movement broke him from his train of thought, as he saw her head towards the opening of the alleyway. “Fine. Before we leave though, shouldn’t you change out of those clothes? Those hardly seem subtle in a town.” He commented before making his own way towards the entrance. A quick glance showed that there wasn’t another pair of clothing anywhere close, nor a backpack. Turning back towards the soul reaper he paused for a moment. His eyes widened as a realization hit him. ’Wait. How did she change so fast? What place was she from? Was a soul reaper similar to the grim reaper? No. it couldn’t be-’” Are you a spirit?” he asked, finishing the thought out loud.
OOC: Fine with me. The more rp and ranks the better!
Kuroi glanced in his direction as he spoke. A sentence he spoke caught her attention as a way of knowing she had some teaching to do with this guy. “Fine. Before we leave though, shouldn’t you change out of those clothes? Those hardly seem subtle in a town.” She smirked when he said this. Her smirk grew though when she heard his next words. "Are you a spirit?" Well then, the boy didn't know. She would inform him of what exactly he was talking to. "My dear. You can see me, but no one else in this town can. Am I a spirit? Yes, I am. I died many years ago. Therefore, because I am in fact a spirit, normal people cannot see me. I left my gigai in an alleyway nearby. It was deserted, so I'm hoping no one had found it. When I come here. my gigai helps me to walk around, and let people see me. The Naka guy, he was a Quincy. He has special powers and abilities, but normal people cannot see his crossbow, to my knowledge. He is, in fact, a human." she spoke, the slightest chuckle escaping her mouth as she spoke. "Now, let's go. We don't have much time until the fun starts. I can answer anything you ask. Come with me to quickly get my gigai and change back." She broke off in a run towards the entrance, rounding the corner to the right to lead back to the original ally-way.
OOC: Once more, sorry for the short post. This is kind of in a way filler but not as well, seeing as I am informing your character of my own.
