Final Clan Stuff:Sakai ClanThe Sakai clan is the oldest of the four founding noble clans of Soul Society. They are the keepers of records and the entire history of Soul Society. No secret is dark or large enough to escape their pen and paper. Any event to occur within Soul Society’s walls has been recorded and guarded by them for centuries. They helped form Soul Society's rules and customs. While a lot of this was done during Soul Society’s early years and has changed or evolved since then, they are still proudly known as the clan that helped set the foundations which would later lead to the unique ways in which Soul Society operates.
Being proud and traditional, the Sakai do not allow outsiders to join their clan and it is forbidden to adopt family members. Their traditions and customs are theirs alone. Elders train their family members while they are still young. They teach them how to sort books, how to defend themselves and most important of all, the clan’s traditions. What many also don’t realize is the clans advance knowledge in Shunpo which is strictly only passed down to clan members. Sakai may not be the creator of the technique, but they are the true masters of the flash step. No other clan can perform Shunpo at such an advanced level.
One other important thing to note about the clan is that members will never allow others to disrespect or violate their traditions. Doing so is a quick fire method to get on their bad side. Members take great pride in their clan and its traditions. Sakai members have been violent towards Shinigami, other clans and even civilians that have disrespected or talked ill about the clan. While members are ordinarily well-manner and highly disciplined, negativity about the clan is never tolerated.
Leader: Liange Sakai is the head of the clan and is rumored to be over a thousand years old. His strength is on par with a captain and he is one of the wisest Shinigami in all of Soul Society. Even other clans come to him for his wisdom and reasoning. He is also known to be quite a private person. He rarely seen leaving his mansion. Although, it is usually quite a big deal when he does.
Passive Bonus: Members of this clan start with 2 additional Shunpo uses and are able to travel an extra 2 meters with their Shunpo.
Requirement: Application history must detail being born into the clan. Cannot join after character creation.
Fuuninshuin Clan
The Fuuinshuin clan is famous for not following the cultural norms of the other noble clans. Usually, the outward appearance of each member is that of a commoner rather than a noble. However, despite this reputation, they are undisputedly one of the four great founding clans of Soul Society. During the early years, they were famously known as the guardians of Soul Society. The Fuuninshuin clan were always the first to dive into battle and usually played a pivotal role in major conflicts. It is due to this that despite their rather mundane demeanour, each clan member carries a strong sense of pride and honour.
Due to their harsh training routines and strong personalities, members are often large, physically fit and enjoy being loud. Even when mixed with large groups of people, members of the Fuuninshuin are easy spot as they loving being the centre of attention and usually carry more presence around them. Most members also have a reputation amongst the other clans for being rude, tactless and even scruffy. While this rough appearance boasts of their battle prowess, the other clans struggle to see what is so ‘noble’ about them.
Unlike most other nobles, Fuuinshuin members are usually littered with scars all over their bodies which they proudly display like war trophies. These wounds often come from sparing with other members and the harsh training regimes they subject themselves to on a daily basis. It is rare for them to gain scars from battles because how tough and well-trained their bodies are. While training scars are shown off like tattoos and as a testament to their hard work, scars gained on the field of battle are looked down upon as a sign that more training is needed. Overall, it is also surprising to note that despite their rough appearances and vulgar tone, they are considered being one of the friendlier clans out of the four founders.
Leader: Not only is Gozei Fuuninshuin the one and only leader of the clan, but he is also one of the oldest Shinigami to still be fighting for Soul Society. In terms of melee combat, he is rumoured to be one of the strongest. However, due to his old age, he avoids fighting now and mostly just oversees the training of the clan members with the greatest potential.
Passive Bonus: Each clan member possesses a body as tough as iron. Rank I attacks won’t even scratch them and they only take half the damage from Rank II attacks.
Requirement: Members can either be born into the clan or initiated into it via an existing member. Members who weren’t born into the clan can only gain the passive after going through a harsh training thread with another member of the clan.
Anzu Clan
For unknown reasons, the Anzu clan was entrusted with a holy artifact of unknown power of the Soul King. While even they themselves are clueless about its purpose, it is rumoured to have something to do with the Soul King’s palace. Naturally, this sense of high responsibility went to the member’s heads and led to generations of clan members constantly looking down upon the other clans for not being chosen for the task. While members are respectful and kind to one another, they often have superiority complexes and are rather boastful when in the presence of the other clans.
Famously, members of the Anzu clan are known for being highly talented with Kido. During Soul Society’s founding, the clan created and teaches some of the fundamental Kido that would later be taught to young Shinigami as staple techniques. It is also rumoured that the clan once allowed talented and gifted individuals of all shapes and sizes to join their ranks. However, after generations of elitism, the clan later closed its doors to outsiders. Instead, they began to only allow arranged and forced marriages between members within the clan to preserve the Anzu’s ‘pure-blooded’ lineage.
Naturally, discipline is one of the most important things taught to the members of the clan due to the difficulties involved in mastering advanced Kido. Due to this, most members are highly analytical and have learned to be very perceptive through their training. They follow orders to the detail and are very disciplined and respectful to their teachers. Members of the Anzu clan are also known to be well-groomed and carry themselves with an air of pride and nobility. While they have looked down on outsiders, they will rarely feel the need to justify themselves or stoop down to the other clan’s levels by arguing or getting into actual fights.
Leader: Hioshi Anzu is well known amongst the other clans due to his comparatively young age of roughly 300 years. Since he is the youngest leader amongst the four noble clans, he often feels like he has something to prove. Regularly, he likes to make public appearances to spread word about the Anzu clan and to boost his own ego.
Passive Bonus: Being highly proficient in Kido, all offensive numbered Kido performed by clan members will always be more potent than normal. Opponents taking a clean hit will always receive an extra Rank II worth of damage that can ignore defensive techniques such as Hierro.
Requirement: Application history must detail being born into the clan. Cannot join after character creation.
