The small hollow cried out as it become entangled in the threads. As to pulled and yanked against them, tearing them apart with effort and black veil descended. Trying to back away the remaining threads kept it inside the darkness. It didn’t see the large thorny tail before it grinding against it. The sharp bony splinters tearing into its body, eviscerating the unfortunate victim.
“T is for Thou, who got torn to bits. U is for you, whose body’s all splits” Eva whispered from behind the gurgling hollow. She caressed the creatures neck before plunging a hand into its flesh, finishing the job. Pulling the carcass up the rocks that surrounded the pass into the wastelands directly next to the forest. She had chosen her home well. It was enclosed, and concealed, allowing her to pick and choose her prey. Even with the occasional none-hollow who ventured too far from home.
She lay the body on the ledge overlooking the pass, and smile at it softly. She stroked its cheek tenderly. Tracing her fingers down the body until she came to the mess that was its mid section. She ran a finger over the innards before taking one out and eating it. She hated and loved killing the pretty ones. It seemed like such a waste, but they were angels now, and her hunger would not be sated on any less than their bodies, pretty or not.
Xian walked area the wastelands. Nothing much was here, but he had heard about a hollow in the area. Prying on weaker hollows. Though the very idea was interesting. Move young hollows do this all the time. It our very nature and how we evolve. Nothing really odd about it. However, the hollow was supposed to be Gillian form. Which was odd seeing one out of the forest. Not only that, it was one that was smaller and appearance was much different. It was a rare occurrence. Xian was one of those Gillian. Since then evolve from such appearance.
He was much smaller than normal hollows, and much smaller than most hollows! This was his reasoning being here. The area, the sky, and even the sun. It was all very depressing look of the wastelands. Most of the time, the evolve hollows goes into the other areas. His very presence of his level to be here. Most hollows knows about him, and seeing him stronger than what he was just fuel to fear. As Gillian he made this entire area under his control.
"Where is this hollow," he says out loud. Finally, he released his energy spirit energy. Allowing any hollow to sense it. If a Gillian feel it, they most likely draw to it. Xian release a few mines into the sand. Expecting it to attack first and ask questions later. If it does, attack, the mines will catch it off guard and settle it down. This way he can have a little talk with it. "I'll be surprise this one didn't attack me. It'll be a first time ever. Even that giant idiot Artruro attacked me on site".
Eva had been half was through a mouthful when the voice echoed out around her. She froze on the spot.
“This hollow?” she whispered to herself “This hollow is hiding away, she wants to see another day, I’ll not come out to play…” She quickly tore off a limb of the hollow and moved direction away from the voice. Not noticing the blood trickling from her perch. Slithering down the other side of the ledge, even she could tell this entity possessed power far beyond her own. It was the only question of fight or flight. Her wings did not work as such but she was more than capable of fleeing.
She did not think as to why such a hollow would come after her, only that he would have similar intentions to her. He wanted to make her an angel. But she wasn’t going to let that happen, she just had to lose herself in amidst of all the other hollows. In a world riddled with them as though they were a plague, how hard could that be?
Releasing his energy to draw her out didn't work. It possible it did the opposite and scared her off. Xian let out a loud sigh. Creating a small echo into the area. Xian jacket flutter in the wind. The sand from the wasteland scatter into the air. Following the wind wherever it takes them. The air wasn't hot, or cold. Nor was it exactly warm. Xian didn't know the right words to explain it. This world is just so much different from the world of the living.
No real worlds to explain it all. How was the world was created and who created? What was the purpose of this place? What was hollows purpose? Many questions to never to be solved. No one to ask with the answers. If there was one, he wasn't in this plane or world. In his own plane. Xian legs were spread out from each other. Prepare for some kind of rapid movement just in case if it happens. Xian arms were crossed.
Xian mood was sober. His face showed he was in deep thought. Xian wanted to find this hollow. Wherever it maybe. He had questions that needed to be answered. More importantly, he wanted to get rid of his boredom. He haven't had much to do as of late. He wanted something or someone to help pass the time. To even help his goals. Xian lean down and grabbed the sand into his claw hands. Touching the sand into his very palms.
Feeling the texture and wonder even more about this world. What was this place was before it became sand? Xian throw the sand out and sigh some more. He was getting nowhere and this hollow was hiding in fear. He wishes that dumb idiot was here helping him search. Just to have someone do the leg work instead. Xian sigh once again. He started to search for spirit energy. He sense one that was rather strange than that of normal hollows. Xian started to follow. Hoping this was what he was looking for.
Eva continued to crawl away, slowly so as not to attract unwanted attention, completely unaware she was being pursued. She gnawed gingerly on the arm she had taken with her, trying to save it, but failing entirely. Within moments she had already forgotten why she was moving instead taking her time playfully moving from ledge to ledge. Stripping down the arm of it’s nutrients as she went.
She began humming absently to herself as she wrapped herself around a long thin rock that stuck up high to get an idea of where she wanted to go. As she did so she turn to see behind her and the one hat hand followed her. In a cold pain she giggled. Waving with the severed arm.
“Ugh…. Hi?” she ventured, glancing at the hand she quickly snapped off a finger “Finger food?” she offered, in a feeble attempt to save herself from the powerful hollow.
Xian looked at the grotesque hollow. Her very image was proof she was not strong yet. A hollow who has to yet to evolve. However, for a long time Xian was just a Gillian himself. Never bother until recently. Just in matter a year, he had manage to evolve what normal hollows take thousand of years to gain. The hollow demon appears to be a female. Her upper body appears to be human, but once you go the waist down it another ballgame.
The demon offer food to Xian. As a way to peace offer. Most likely out of fear to stop Xian in killing her. " Allow me introduce myself. I am the hollow Feng-Xian," greeted Feng-Xian to the girl hollow. He didn't let down his guard, even though he wasn't here to fight her. She could have another line in thinking. Xian tone in his voice speaks manners, and formal.
He shook his head on her offer. "As of now, you have no fear from me, unless you give me a reason to strike fear into you! I only game because I heard about a hollow eating other hollows. While this is normal behavior of hollows, what is strange is that it no normal hollow, but have the presence of being a Gillian. This is a rare occurrence to happen. I only know of two hollow of this to happen. You are now the third. From this rare event they have proven to evolve fast, and strong".
From all this babble, it was most likely she was not keeping up. Though, he had gotten used to not being straight with people. Having to lie and hide behind a mask of his true self to get things down. However, lower ranks hollow it was much easier. They do not like back talking, and fear him. Just as he liked. He expressed himself freely. Soon, Xian felt a lot of that will change. No matter who he talks to, they all be below him. Like pawns on a chessboard. Who only know to obey orders.
"I shall come out and say it. Due to past events that proves these hollows grow to be strong. I want you to serve under me. By doing so, you gain my protection and most other demons will not bother you. I will become Arracar soon and even Espada! Will you become one of my Fracción?"
Eva lowers the arm, realising such a gesture was both futile and uninteresting to this hollow. She knew little of the world, having focused solely on her own survival for so very long now. It didn't attack her, a curious thing to the nervous child-hollow. Against the creature before her, she felt very much like she did so long ago. A weak little girl standing next to a seemingly ancient man.
She listened to the man speak of terms that were both new and completely alien to her. Gillian? Evolve? She recalled vaguely her history. Specifically she wondered if the joining with the others was some how relevent in all this. Her face contorted into a confused scrunch before he was finished. She could not fly, but clearly he could, for her had gone over her head entirely. She cocked her head to one side patiently waiting for a pause in which to ask the questions, but he beat her to it.
Espada? Fraccion?
She did not respond at first, wondering if there was more complicated stuff to come, and was only slightly relieved when it did not. But was then faced with the predicament that was responding to the gibberish the man seemingly spoke.
"Er..." she began, knowing upsetting the hollow would result in her likely death, assuming that wasn't what he was talking about when he mentioning becoming one of his. After a further silence under expectent gaze she finally decided to come clean.
"What?" she asked, in a much more dumbfounded tone than she had aimed for. She recoiled slightly, readying herself for a strike for her insolence.
Still, what he had said was going over her head. She didn't understand him at all. Must be very new to the hollow world to not understand him. Xian had let out a loud sigh. Showing no intention of hiding it. Xian put his hand over his head and rub his forehead. The hollow was large and typical. However, it appears to have normal speak. Least that was better than Atruro who could only grow and limited speak.
"How should I explain this without more going over your head". Xian start to give it some thought on how explaining it. Xian had even wanted to talk over philosophy. Not often he could with hollows with normal speak lately. If what he had said before didn't make it through, then he doubts philosophy would either. Xian stand straight up. He moves over to the wall nearby and lean against it.
"How you like to serve me, become my minion, to work for me," Xian asked. He wasn't caring if he sounded rude or well manner. He never cared. In life or in death here. Hopefully, it had gotten through to her. "You don't have to answer me now and take time to think about it if you so wish it.
Eva resisted the growing urge to snack on what was left of the arm while the hollow considered how he would bring his confusing words down to a level she could understand. She avoiding making any motions at all, mainly for fear he would mistake it as rudeness of impatience or otherwise. The last thing she wanted was to get on the hollows bad side. After all, a hollow has to eat...
“Work for you? But mister, What work could you possibly have for me?” she asked, trying to avoid being impudent. She considered asking how it might benefit her, but caught herself and answered it mentally to herself
‘Maybe he’ll simply allow you to live’ After all, life was harsh, yet it held a brutal simplicity to it.
“I am but a small creature, my power is neither impressive nor useful, or even unique in anyway of which I can tell…” she faded off realising he had already mentioned why it was he wanted her. But the details had slipped her mind already. Frankly she was surprised to still be alive after encountering a hollow so much more powerful than herself.
This hollow was not getting it. He was not if it was her IQ or it was her fear. Xian was not sure exactly. "Maybe not now, but I believe you will over time. This is what I hope for," replied Xian to the hollow girl. Xian stand straight back up. No longer using the wall for support. He was going to make his leave soon.
Xian body felt differently suddenly. Making Xian have to leave very soon. His body was changing from the inside and outside. Though it was obvious to anyone looking at him, but Xian felt it. He had to make this quick and leave soon. "To carry out orders I give you. You do not have to answer me now, but remember there a lot of hollows out there and willing to eat you. Under my protection you do not have to worry about much stronger hollows doing that to you,"
Xian made his way out to his business. He needed to meet another hollow. A hollow who rivals him in raw power if not more. That do not make up his small brain however. It has been a long time since the two seen each other. So appearance would be different for them both. Xian would send a hollow to meet. The face on him when he sees how had evolved faster will be priceless.
Xian hollow hole felt like it was moving and changing on size. Xian would be lying saying it did not hurt. His hands were trembling slightly. Xian breathing was off. At this point he was far away from the hollow girl. Xian was holding this, his next stage was soon. He was just holding it in. Just for this meeting. He wanted someone to be around.
Eva considered. She had never given her future any thought. ‘Next’ was her future, on a rare occasion she thought of tomorrow, but beyond that? What would be the point, her entire life and after-life had been a fight for survival. It left her no time to consider a future of any kind. As all this was occurring to her she found the hollow making his leave.
Surprised he was so confident her could easily find her again she remained silent. Watching the hollow up and leave, just as curiously has he had come to her. She could not place his actions, or his reason behind it. Perhaps as she would ‘evolve further’ she may come to understand his words.
With him gone she finally ripped another mouthful off the hand. The hollow presented her an interesting choice. He could essentially assure her survival, at the cost of some of her freedom. Whatever such a thing was, to her life akin the chaos that surrounded it. Simple and unpredictable. That was assuming he could find her again. She herself had never tried, but surely it was not a simple thing?
She turned and moved onward herself. Deciding to discard the thought for now. If he could find her again on his little whim, then so be it. She would see what he might ask of her, for a time…
